Let’s create a new democracy
Vision
In the 1770s, the Declaration of Independence inspired everyone in America to think about democracy, and how it should work.
It was a time of excitement and innovation. When all Americans believed we were in charge of our own destiny.
Today, we want to rekindle that spirit so Americans create a new democracy. A democracy that will work better for all of America.
If we do that, we just might change the course of history in America.

(forgive the 18th century sexist language, which was considered neutral at the time)
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Strategy
We are bringing people together to game out a new democracy.
It’s a fun way to explore how a new democracy might work. Then innovate and iterate.
We’re not fixed on any particular design for a new democracy.
The goal is to get people to start innovating a new democracy that will work better for all of America. No breaking up America. Just a better democracy.

About Us
In 2021 we formed Citizensgov as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit.
We worried that our politics had turned dangerous. We wanted to give citizens a peaceful way to change the course of history in America. Just in case our democracy went off the rails.
